³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Three orders series from We Are Klang

We Are Klang

³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Three has commissioned a first series from if.comedy nominees We Are Klang.

Commissioned by Lucy Lumsden, Controller of Comedy Commissioning, and Danny Cohen, Controller of ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Three, the 6 x 30-minute series – called We Are Klang – will be a studio-based sitcom filmed in front of a live audience.

The series is set in the council offices of the fictional town of Klangbury, from where the Klang trio, Marek Larwood, Steve Hall, and Greg Davis, unleash their brand of unfathomable incompetence across this once functioning town.

Danny Cohen said: "³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Three is the home of new comedy talent, and so I'm thrilled that We Are Klang will be on the channel next year. They are a wonderfully talented and unique team."

Jon Mountague , Executive Producer, ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Comedy North, said: "Imagine the Three Musketeers duffing up Boris Johnson in a cartoon council chamber, add relentless jokes and a nice song and dance – that's We Are Klang and I can't wait to see it on TV."

Jon Thoday, Joint Managing Director of Avalon Management, said: "It is fantastic news that ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Three wants to work with such credible new performers as We Are Klang. The prospect of them bringing their unique brand of comedy to the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ is hugely exciting."

We Are Klang added: "If there is anyone who still doubts that the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ is a place where all things are possible, today's announcement – that these three weird-looking idiots have been allowed to make a sitcom – is your answer. To those who say it shouldn't be allowed we respond to the doubters with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of We Are Klang: Ner ner ne ner ner.."

The series will go into production in the spring and is due to transmit in mid-2009. It will be produced by Jon Mountague, Executive Producer, ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Comedy North, while the Executive for the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ is Mark Freeland.
