³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Radio 5 Live moves to Hull this October as the station broadcasts its very own Octoberfest between 22 and 24 October.
The event – the biggest-ever ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ outside broadcast in Hull – will bring together all the elements of the Radio 5 Live mix, including news, sport, debate and entertainment in front of live audiences.
We want you to be part of it so if you want to be in the audience for any of the special broadcasts visit bbc.co.uk/5live/octoberfest to obtain audience tickets.
Amongst those broadcasting from the city will be Nicky Campbell, Shelagh Fogarty, Simon Mayo, Mark Kermode, Richard Bacon, Mark Pougatch, Colin Murray, Peter Allen and Anita Anand.
The station will showcase key programmes and offer listeners the chance to be in a series of live studio audience events, many of which will come from the Ferens Art Gallery.
On Thursday 22 October, on 5 Live Breakfast, Nicky Campbell (7.00-10.00am) will celebrate Hull's Premier League status with a special broadcast from Hull City featuring the irrepressible Phil Brown.
Mark Pougatch will present 5 Live Sport live from Hull City v Portsmouth (from 12.00noon) on Saturday 24 October.
³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Radio Humberside will broadcast the Peter Levy Show (10.00-11.30am) from the Ferens Art Gallery – where Peter and guests will debate some big local issues in front of a live audience.
Lord Coe will be the keynote guest in a special interactive 5 Live Drive debate chaired by Peter Allen.
Colin Murray will also be at the Ferens gallery in front of a live audience for the regular Saturday Fighting Talk.
Richard Bacon (10.00pm-1.00am) will join Hull's student community with a live broadcast from Hull University.
On Friday 23 October, Simon Mayo and Mark Kermode (1.00-4.00pm) will broadcast their show including the award-winning film review in front of a live audience at Hull's Vue Cinema.
Colin Murray (7.00-10.00pm) previews the weekend in Kicking Off With Colin Murray, with guest Tim Lovejoy.
Radio 5 Live Controller, Adrian Van Klaveren, said: "Octoberfest is a brilliant opportunity for 5 Live to connect with the people of Hull. We will listen to what people have to say and bring something different and special to 5 Live listeners nationwide. We will be really visible in the city so we want to meet as many people as we can and to hear as many local voices as possible on air."
Queen Victoria Square in Hull's city centre will host the 5 Live Igloo containing interactive features including the slogger cricket game, kids' activities and information on what is planned and how you can be a part of the action and possibly star on the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Big Screen.
Activities in and around the 5 Live Igloo will include:
Thursday 22 October – Meet the Commentators
Radio 5 Live's commentary team will be meeting the public and giving tips on what it takes to deliver great sport commentary.
And throughout Octoberfest in the Igloo:
Banter Booth – sound off on the story of the day as you give your views on a current issue – the best will be played out on the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Big Screen, 5 Live's minisite and even on Radio 5 Live.
Listeners will get the chance to try their hand at commentary themselves and take away a disc recording of their efforts.
C³ÉÈËÂÛ̳'s Newsround – budding newsreaders will be able to read the news and see their performance on TV as the star of the iconic children's programme
