The ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ has appointed Simon Lloyd as Director of Marketing, Communications & Audiences (MC&A) for Future Media & Technology (FM&T), which is responsible for the delivery of ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ services in new ways to audiences via existing and developing technology. Simon Lloyd will report to Sharon Baylay, Director, MC&A, and will take up his post on 2 November 2009.
Sharon Baylay said: "The way that our audiences are consuming ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ content is both changing and becoming increasingly sophisticated.
"Simon will play an important role alongside his colleagues in MC&A in ensuring that the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ continues to deliver its commitment to reaching our audiences on every platform as well as discovering and developing new ways to engage with them."
Simon Lloyd will be responsible for developing the marketing, communications and audiences strategy for FM&T in line with the overall strategy for ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ MC&A.
He will also play a role in the strategic leadership and development of MC&A as a division. Additionally he will work closely with Erik Huggers, Director, FM&T and other members of the FM&T board on which he will have a seat.

His wide-ranging industry experience will be invaluable as we continue to develop our technologies to provide outstanding consumer experiences and to help our audiences easily access some of the best and most distinctive content in British media."
Simon Lloyd began his career at BT as a Customer Marketing Manager and has held a series of more senior positions in companies including Mirror Group (London), Kellogg's, 20th Century Fox, 118118 The Number and Nokia.
He joins the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ from Palm Europe Ltd, where he was Senior Director, Marketing (EMEA). He was responsible for all marketing activity across the region for Palm's products, brands and services.
His achievements include redefining the positioning of Palm's Treo Pro, developing Palm's 'Go to Market' strategy for Palm in EMEA and the development of both the company's mobile services and applications strategy and of Palm Europe's Web and digital strategy.
