General Election aside, Wales is facing a big vote on Wednesday night (April 21) with the final of ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Radio Cymru's Battle of the Bands competition, Brwydr y Bandiau Mentrau Iaith Cymru and C2 Radio Cymru 2010.
Following weeks of musical battle, there are now just three bands left standing, and all three depend completely on a public vote to determine who wins the title.
During the final on Radio Cymru's evening service, C2, Wednesday 21 April, 8pm, listeners will hear tracks recorded specially for the final in a professional recording studio.
Three leading pop and rock maestros will also give their opinions live – DJ Bethan Elfyn, rock musician Rhodri Llwyd Morgan and DJ and pop expert Ian Cottrell will voice their views, but the vote is entirely in the public's hands.
The three finalists are;
Aberystwyth's The Unknown whose members are from Ysgol Penweddig, Penglais School and Aberystwyth University. They are Twm Dylan (17), Amane Suganami (16), Nick Morgan (19), Huw Evans (17), Tomos Glyn (16), Ryan Rabey (16) and Tom Wells (17).
Swansea's Yr Angen whose members, Jac Davies (17), Jamie Price (18), David Williams (17) and Gareth Jones (17), are all students at Ysgol Gyfun Gwyr, Gowerton.
Carmarthen band Cyfoes whose members, Dafydd Jenkins (17), Steffan Hughes (18), Daniel Owen (18) and Aled Evans (18), are all students at the town's Ysgol Bro Myrddin.
Rhodri Llwyd Morgan said: "Once again I've been surprised at the standard and once again the range of music is great.
"The final offers the three bands a great challenge, giving their music a polished studio sound as they record for the first time in a professional studio.
"The competition has long won its place as a way of supporting new talent within the Welsh language music scene."
The winners will:
Record a session for Radio Cymru's C2 service
Appear on S4C's Uned 5
Perform in one of the big summer festivals
Perform at the Royal Welsh's Youth Village
Perform at Mentrau Iaith Cymru gigs
Take part in Radio Cymru's C2 Schools Tour
Details of how to vote will be revealed on Wednesday's programme.
