Digital radio station ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ 6 Music is set to welcome Tom Ravenscroft to the station for a new regular Friday night show from Friday 4 June (9pm-12midnight).
Tom brings a wealth of music knowledge and presenting experience to the station, having previously presented shows for Channel 4 Radio and regularly deputised on 6 Music for Tom Robinson, Marc Riley, Gideon Coe, Huey Morgan and Guy Garvey.
On coming to 6 Music Tom says: "I'm thrilled that 6 Music have asked me to present a weekly show. It's great to be offered a home on a station with such amazing DJs, who open your ears to lots of exciting music, both new and old. I intend to do the same and can't wait to get started."
On the newest recruit to the 6 Music family, 6 Music Editor Paul Rodgers, says: "Tom Ravenscroft is a great young broadcaster with all the knowledge, passion and articulacy that you might expect from someone of his lineage. Tom is much sought-after and we are thrilled that he thinks that 6 Music is the best way for him to reach his audience."
6 Music recently received seven nominations in the Sony Radio Academy Awards 2010 for presenters Lauren Laverne (Best Music Programme and Music Radio Personality of the Year), Steve Lamacq and Huey Morgan (Music Broadcaster of the Year) and Adam and Joe (Best Comedy), for Best Station Imaging, and for Steve Levine (Best Programme Contributor). The Sony Radio Academy Awards 2010 take place on Monday 10 May.
