³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Sport will provide viewers with live and comprehensive coverage of the 2010 Derby which will take place at Epsom racecourse 4-5 June 2010.
Clare Balding will lead the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳'s coverage of this prestigious meeting in the racing calendar. She will be joined by expert analyst and four-time Derby winner, Willie Carson.
Commentary on the runners and riders will come from a team headed up by Jim McGrath, expert analysis by Ian Bartlett and former champion jockey Kevin Darley.
Roving reporter Rishi Persad will be on hand with interviews from those connected with the runners in the big race, while Suzi Perry will be out and about around Epsom getting a flavour of the atmosphere on this special day. In the betting ring all of the latest news will be brought by John Parrott and Gary Wiltshire.
For the first time in UK racing history steward's inquiries will be broadcast live on the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ from Epsom. The workings of the stewards' room, which can affect the destiny of millions of punters' pounds have been a closely guarded secret until now. Officials hope the trial will demystify this particular aspect of horse racing. Railcam will once again be in operation this year. This remote controlled camera will be mounted on a specially built rail, offering a unique view of the field as it rounds Tattenham Corner, one of the most important parts of the Derby.
Television coverage of the 2010 Derby Festival will commence on Friday 4 June at 1.30pm with The Oaks at 4.05pm on ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Two. Coverage on Saturday 5 June will start at 1.15pm on ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ One, with the Derby due off at 4pm.
On Friday 4 June from 8pm on ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Radio 5 Live Sport Eleanor Oldroyd will be joined by special guests including Cornelius Lysaght to look ahead to Saturday's Epsom Derby in 5 Live Racing.
Then on Saturday 5 June Eleanor will be live from Epsom Downs racecourse on Radio 5 Live for the 232nd Derby. Eleanor is joined by 5 Live's racing correspondent Cornelius Lysaght, former Champion jockey Mick Fitzgerald and former Gold Cup-winning jockey Jason Weaver to give their expert analysis on proceedings. Helen Skelton will be out and about around the course to bring a taste of proceedings. John Hunt and Luke Harvey will have commentary of the big race at 4pm.
UK visitors to the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Sport website will also have access to live video coverage of all the Derby Festival races featured on ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ television at bbc.co.uk/racing, as well as previews and photos from the popular meeting.
