³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Essex has signed a new deal to provide football commentary on every Colchester United and Southend United league and cup matches, home and away, for the 2010-2011 season.
The deal, which kicks off this Saturday (7 August) with Colchester playing at Exeter and Southend facing Stockport, gives the station exclusive rights to commentate on every one of Colchester United's League One games and every kick of Southend United's League Two campaign, including all cup matches, so fans of both teams will not miss a minute of the action.
³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Essex's Glenn Speller presents the station's sports output alongside a team of commentators – providing expert analysis and discussion on the talking points of the day.
Commentary on both teams' games will feature in the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Essex Sport programme on Saturdays from 2-6pm, with special weekday evening programmes to follow the teams' progress in the midweek fixtures.
Martyn Weston, managing editor, ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Essex, says: "³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Essex is the only radio station covering local sport in the county and we're pleased to offer full match commentary of every Colchester and Southend United game, home and away."
He continues: "We're the station fans turn to for all the action, both on and off the pitch, thanks to our strong relationships with the clubs. We're really excited about the season ahead."
Fans of Colchester United can tune into ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Essex on 103.5FM and fans of Southend United can tune into 95.3FM to hear all the action from their respective clubs.
³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Essex broadcasts on 95.3 and 103.5FM, DAB Digital Radio and online via the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ iPlayer.
