Cheryl Taylor, Controller, Comedy Commissioning has appointed Kristian Smith as Executive Editor, Out of London, Comedy Commissioning.
Kristian began his career as a script editor in drama and comedy working on shows including the award winning Channel 4 series, Teachers, and went on to produce ITV1's Emmerdale in 2005 when the show won its first RTS for Soap and Continuing Drama.
Kristian joined the new comedy department at ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Scotland in 2006. He worked on the development of The Old Guys, Life Of Riley and No Holds Bard before moving to ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Comedy North in Manchester, working under Kenton Allen to produce and develop new narrative comedy. Most recently, Kristian has produced Scallywagga for ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Three and Shelfstackers for ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Two/Switch.

Kristian takes up the role with immediate effect and will be based in Manchester. He replaces Jon Rolph who has taken up the role of London Executive Editor (working alongside Simon Wilson) following the departure of Simon Lupton.
