Now in its second year, the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Norfolk Film Festival presents a showcase for Norfolk film-makers, capturing the people, places and everyday life of the county.
The giant digital screen of Fusion at The Forum provides the perfect setting for this three-week festival, from 11-30 October, with free public access 10am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday.
Stay as little or as long as you like – the programme of films really does include something for everyone.
The festival has been organised by ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Voices, a media workshop and production unit based at The Forum.
³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Voices producer Gary Standley said, "More and more people are picking up camcorders to film everyday events and activities. This will be the archive of the future, but few of us get to see these excellent films today."
Providing the backdrop to people's life stories, and very often starring in its own right, the county's beautiful landscape is a main feature of the festival.
It weaves through visits behind the scenes of well-known places and follows the lives of Norfolk people as they dance, cycle, sing, jump, run and just get on with life.
Among the films is a special entry made by the villagers of Saxlingham Nethergate, in partnership with the Norfolk Wildlife Trust. Over the period of a year they filmed the nature in their parish, recording the changing seasons, to create a moving tribute to country life.
Contrasted to that are fast-moving BMX biking films, thoughtful reflections on life as an early morning office cleaner and the official Cromer Festival Song music video.
Gary adds: "We know from the demand for our film-making courses at ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Voices that there is a growing interest in film-making and we are proud to include in the festival many films made by people who have attended our courses, along with some made by our ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Voices volunteers."
