Graham Norton welcomes Kim Cattrall, Jessie Wallace and Lee Mack

This week on the show, Sex And The City star Kim Cattrall, EastEnder Jessie Wallace, comedian Lee Mack and British girl band The Saturdays, join Graham Norton for a chat.

Talking about her new movie, Meet Monica Velour, Kim says: "It was a stretch for me – literally a stretch as I had to gain 20lbs to play this character... it was fantastic! I have been on a diet since 1974 so this was time for me to eat. God I love to eat, chips and crisps and puddings. Oh, it was amazing."

On her role in the movie as a hard-nosed, retired porn star, she says: "I had no make up on and my hair was just as I got out of bed. I am known so much for looking just one way – that sort of Barbie doll perfection look that Sex and the City promotes – so it was fantastic for me to get to play a real person." Asked it was hard for her to watch the movie she says: "Impossible."

Describing returning to EastEnders as: "lovely," Jessie says: "I can’t believe it’s almost been a year, it’s gone so quickly. I’m really enjoying it." Talking about her early days on the show she says: "When I first joined the cast we were shown round the Square and they showed us the tube station and I was thinking, ‘How great is this, a train station right that comes right into work!’ I didn’t tell anyone for years that I thought it was real."

And, on the furore the soap’s baby swap story line caused, Jessie says: "I think people were shocked because they just weren’t expecting it. I think they were just disturbed by it."

Confessing to Kim, she is a huge fan of Sex and The City, Jessie explains: "I have it on quite a lot and my daughter Tallulah keeps getting some sneaky bits but I don’t let her watch the rude bits. And if she comes into the room when there are rude bits on I have to jump in front of the telly going, ‘La la la la when you (Kim) are doing the hibidy dibidy...’" Correcting Jessie, Kim says: "When Samantha was doing that not me. I tell people ‘You have seen Samantha nude, not me nude.’"

Talking about leaving the infamous ‘Samantha’ behind for other parts and theatre, Kim says: "It’s hard. People think you are that character and it follows you." Describing starring in Anthony and Cleopatra in Liverpool as: "A really amazing homecoming," she says: "It was a huge thing for me because being from Liverpool and going to the playhouse as a kid I always wanted to work there." Asked about fame and being in Liverpool she says: "People left me alone, they were very respectful."

Lee, who has another view of playing a home crowd, says: "I won’t play Stockport because I am scared old friends from school with will shout out, ‘We remember you. You weren’t funny then and you’re not funny now!’"

Talking about meeting fans, Jessie says: "Generally people are really lovely to me but I was at the funfair a little while ago and I was surrounded these girls that looked like they were from My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding and one said, ‘Where’s your makeup? You look better with makeup.’ I was scared."

The Saturdays perform Notorious from their new album live in the studio before joining Graham and his guests for a chat.

And finally, Graham pulls the lever on foolhardy members of the audience brave enough to sit in the red chair.
