Vymethoxy Redspiders is the preeminent sorceress of insectoid insanity who goes by many names and many guises. Like any mystical creature, she can change her shape! As a member of such internationally renowned experimental freak-sound units as Guttersnipe, Two Form a Click, and formerly To Live and Shave in L.A., along with her solo projects Petronn Sphene and The Ephemeron Loop, she has gigged and toured extensively in Europe and North America (appearing at festivals such as Unsound, Kraak, Supernormal, Norberg, Trip Metal, Donaufest, and others) for the last decade in her emissarial role as wreaker of chroma-swarm, psychotic-acoustic bio-pylon of queer autistic mania, and summoner of vivid sonic unrealities!
Most recognisable by her unhinged harpy caterwauling, plasma flare guitar contortions and predilection for asymmetric, jarringly unquantized rhythms, she is adaptable to many different musical and performance situations, having played as a free improviser alongside veteran jammers such as Chris Corsano, Elvin Brandhi, Mariam Rezaei, Limpe Fuchs, Rian Treanor, Lukas Koenig, Junko Hiroshige, Astral Social Club and more. A Welsh fairy by birth, she has been based in Leeds since 2013 where she has been closely associated and active within the underground music community surrounding the queer DIY space Wharf Chambers.
