The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) have recently completed a study that indicates that we as a nation have been neglecting our front gardens in preference to paving, parking and gravel, and in doing so, taking away the vital 'green lung' of towns and cities. And so in a new mini strand to the series, Carole and Carolyn take on a couple of new build front gardens and rescue them from the lure of paving.
Carole also visits Claire and Gordon Bennett, who brought a 22 acre estate in Spottiswoode, near Lauder around 10 years ago. Claire and Gordon have spent the last six years recreating and restoring what was a stunning Victorian garden (after being allowed to run wild since the 1930's) to its original splendour.
