1/4. Clarke Peters begins a celebration of his musical hero - singer, bandleader, film star, dancer and chief hepster Cab Calloway. It's the 100th anniverary of Cab's birth. He rose from the back streets of Baltimore to lead the best-paid black swing orchestra of the 1930s, was a pioneer in radio and drew new audiences in the 1950s in musical theatre.
