Episode 10 of 24

Jim, Carole, Lesley and Carolyn present a bedding-plant special. Carolyn helps revamp a communal garden in Stockbridge, Edinburgh. And Jim visits Cluny House Gardens in Perthshire.

Jim would say 'Ne'er cast a clout till May be oot'. It's June, the simits are off and surely all risk of frost is finally past, even in chilly Aberdeen. It's finally time to put those shivering bedding plants out and, to celebrate that, this programme is a bedding-plant special.

Jim, Carole, Lesley and Carolyn will be planting a huge range of bedding plants in delightfully different situations, showing the possibilites of bedding for everyone. In the Silver Garden, for example, the waterfall feature no longer works, so Carolyn and Lesley create floral falls in petunias to more than make up for the lack of water.

Carolyn is also with Linda Roberts and her neighbours in Stockbridge, Edinburgh. Their communal garden, which serves 12 flats, has become a bit overgrown and in need of some TLC. Carolyn and the neighbours revamp the garden and make it into something they can all use and enjoy without too much heavy maintenance.

Jim travels to Perthshire to visit Wendy and John Mattingley at Cluny House Gardens. This magical woodland garden is full of blue poppies and magnificent trees, one of which is Britain's widest conifer, with a girth of 11 metres.
