Episode 4
Five WAGs work in deprived neighbourhoods in South Africa. In the poor rural district of White River, the WAGs act as foster mothers to children orphaned by AIDS.
Five WAGs leave their pampered lives behind to experience the reality of life behind the gloss of the World Cup by rolling up their sleeves to work in some of the poorest and most deprived neighbourhoods in the host nation, South Africa.
Chantelle Tagoe (Emile Heskey's partner), Ellie Darby (Matthew Upson's partner), Elen Rivas (Frank Lampard's ex-partner) and the ex-girlfriends of Jermaine Pennant and Jermain Defoe - Amii Grove and Imogen Thomas - are faced with the stark reality of the orphan crisis, HIV pandemic and social breakdown there.
The WAGs fly to White River, a poor rural district with one of the highest rates of HIV infection anywhere in South Africa, where their job is to work as foster mothers to children orphaned by AIDS. For one of them, the desperately poor conditions prove too difficult to deal with.
