New government proposals published today could ban companies from forcing workers to retire at 65 by the end of next year.

The first bank to launch on the High Street since the reign of Queen Victoria opens it's doors today.

Scotland has been spared some of the worst of the recession over the last couple of years but it faces major cuts to its budget.

Retail stores have been slashing prices, even after a recent CBI report said that July was the best month for retailers in three years.
