Scarlett's worst fears are realised when Bob discovers the truth about Theresa. Murray and Fraser finally start to bond after Murray discovers a shocking secret.

Scarlett is furious to discover that Theresa has tried to involve Bob in a dodgy car scam. Her fury turns to alarm when it becomes clear that Theresa's 'mates' are hardened criminals and Bob is in danger. Scarlett offers to club in with Theresa to pay off the criminals and Theresa sets up a meeting with her contact for later that afternoon. Scarlett begins a desperate dash to gather the money together. She badgers Murray over wages that Fraser owes her, and lets Raymond down by not going in to work. When the meeting takes place Theresa is dismayed to find out that Morna is still planning on sending her heavies in to teach Bob a lesson. At that moment Scarlett recognises Morna as the wedding planner and threatens to call the police. Morna is keen to make her escape and so agrees to leave with the money, but makes Scarlett promise not to breathe a word about the wedding planner scam to Gina. Meanwhile two heavies approach the garage but before they move in for the attack Morna rings, calling them off.

Bob is bemused when Scarlett and Theresa appear frantic with worry and Scarlett showers him with hugs. Scarlett is elated that Bob has finally seen Theresa's true colours, she tells her that after today she wants Theresa out of Shieldinch for good. However, once they're alone Theresa wins Bob around and Scarlett is devastated when she returns to find Bob and Theresa back on track.

Scarlett meets with Father Mulvaney and talks through her worries; does Theresa deserve to be in Bob's life? She decides that Bob is still better off not knowing the truth. Eventually Scarlett arrives at The Ship to face Raymond's ire at her lateness and Gina's enthusiasm about the wedding. She finds it hard to cope. When Bob approaches the bar and mentions he hopes Theresa will stay in Shieldinch permanently it all becomes too much for Scarlett and she runs out of the pub in tears. A worried Bob goes after her and she finally breaks down and tells him the truth - Theresa is his real mother. A shocked Bob runs off leaving Scarlett sobbing his name across the back courts.

Fraser has a busy day ahead of him and is curt with Murray. After some initial resistance, Murray takes Gina's advice and decides to make the effort with Fraser. He clears his schedule in order to help his son out for the day. Fraser isn't impressed with Murray's interference until he gets a call about some cheap stock and he dashes off leaving Murray to hold the fort. Murray fields queries about orders and is shocked by the state of Fraser's paperwork. Later when Murray gets a call about a late payment he looks through bank statements and a direct debit catches his eye.

When Scarlett appears demanding cash in hand he's even more concerned about the business and goes to the bank to find out more. Fraser returns to find a furious Murray waiting for him demanding an explanation for direct debits from the business account to his ex-wife. After pushing him too far Fraser finally admits that they're for child support. Murray is amazed and then furious to find out he has a grandchild he didn't know about. He storms out to The Ship but when he hears Gina talking about Andy and Sheila's problems he has a change of heart and returns to the flat. With Murray willing to listen and be there for his son, Fraser finally breaks down and the two manage to have a proper heart-to-heart. Fraser agrees that Murray can meet his new grandchild and they toast the future together.

Andy and Sheila are meeting the Rossis at The Oyster cafe and Andy makes his mum promise to be on her best behaviour. Sheila grudgingly agrees but can't help herself making snide comments when she hears that Gina is going to be decorating the wedding cake herself. Andy angrily leaves alone to collect his relatives from the station, making Sheila stay with Ruth and Gina for the day. He hopes that in spending time with them Sheila will realise what a nice family they really are. They head to Just Gordon for a pampering day and Sheila struggles to bite her tongue and suppress her snobbish behaviour. However, when Iona arrives and makes rude comments about Andy and Ruth's sex life Sheila storms out of the salon.

Andy arrives back in Shieldinch to find his mum fuming alone at Carly's Cafe. When he remonstrates with his mum she tries to talk him out of marrying Ruth and Andy storms off. Later Liz finds Sheila and they have a frank conversation about the love between a mother and son. Sheila realises she shouldn't push Andy away as he's all she has. She gets a taxi home with a lot to think about. Later Sheila arrives at The Ship. Everyone braces themselves for an argument but she's actually there to apologise for her behaviour. Sheila has the figures from the top of her wedding cake with her; she gives them to Ruth as her something borrowed. Gina then happily proposes a toast to family, and everyone looks forward to the wedding in the morning.
