When is a rescue dog really a rescued dog? Marie Ashby investigates. Plus the secrets of Derbyshire's Dad's Army, and the retirees living longer and enjoying a new lease of life.
When is a rescue dog really a rescued dog? Marie Ashby investigates a dog shelter in Derbyshire that controversially offers puppies from Irish puppy farms. Also tonight, they lay forgotten in a loft for almost 70 years. But recently discovered secret wartime documents show how a Derbyshire village would have been defended had the Germans invaded the UK. Inside Out investigates an act of bravery by the men of the Home Guard which casts them in a new light compared to the bumbling fools of TV's Dad's Army. And they might be retired but they're certainly not retiring - how living longer is offers some older people a new lease of life.
