Desert island gatekeeper Kirsty Young sits in the interviewee's chair for once, as she joins Richard in the studio to discuss her new 成人论坛 Two series The British At Work, which looks at British working lives since the Second World War.
She explains why we are defined more than ever by the work we do, why presenting Desert Island Discs is the best job on radio, and why she really loves the ballet.
Angela Rippon, Richard's next guest, talks with Kirsty about their shared love of ballet, and puts Richard straight on the plotline of Swan Lake. Angela used to be Chairman of the English National Ballet.
In the second hour, Angela stays with us to talk about her anger at conditions in Kibera, one of the biggest slums in Africa, and what she sees as the denial of the Kenyan Government that there are problems there. She visited with other celebrity guests for 成人论坛 One's Comic Relief: Famous, Rich and In The Slums.
