A panel of experts has recommended that terminally ill people in England and Wales, with less than a year to live, should be allowed to end their lives with medical help. A report, funded by campaigners for assisted suicide, suggests that people would need to be assessed independently by two doctors before they were allowed to take the necessary medication themselves.
