In the feature Headline News [Number One albums On Noteworthy Days] we hear Someone Saved My Life Tonight by Elton John from the LP Captain Fantastic & The Brown Dirt Cowboy. It was number one on 20 June 1975 - the day on which the Steven Spielberg movie Jaws was released. We also hear I Care 4 U by Aaliyah, from her self-titled album. It was number one on 11 September 2001 - the day of the 9/11 attacks.
In the regular feature The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, songs are featured from albums by Trini Lopez and The Manhattan Transfer. It's Not The Same Old Song highlights Michael by The Highwaymen and a different song with the same title by Franz Ferdinand.
In A Matter Of Life And Death Paul celebrates the birth on this date in 1947 of Jennifer Warnes by playing her first hit Right Time Of The Night. Adele remains at the top of the US album chart for a twenty-first non-consecutive week with 21. On the singles side, Part Of Me by Katy Perry is the best-selling song of the week.
