Jonathan Edwards introduces coverage of the Great Manchester Run, which celebrates its tenth staging since being introduced as a legacy to the city's hosting of the Commonwealth Games.
Legendary Ethiopian Haile Gebrselassie is among the record 40,000 entries for the 10km race. The two-time Olympic champion is likely to miss out on a fifth games this summer but he is targeting a fourth successive victory in this event, and fifth overall.
The women's elite race includes Mara Yamauchi, who was sixth in the marathon at the 2008 Olympics and will represent Team GB at the Olympics in London.
