GCSE's could be scrapped and replaced by O-levels, and doctors take industrial action over pensions.

Giles Dilnot with news from the UK and abroad. A leaked report suggests the government could scrap GCSE's and replace them with something closer to the old O-level. John Bangs, the former Head of Education at the National Union of Teachers, says it's typical of ediucation minister Michael Gove to make plans to scrap the GCSE exam without consulting teachers.

Doctors have started 24 hours of industrial action. They're boycotting non-emergency cases. Dr Laurence Buckman is chairman of the BMA's GP Committee. He tells UAN he's very angry that he's had to even think about taking industrial action and it's something all doctors feel really uncomfortable about.

In Texas, a man has been told he won't be tried for the murder of a man he found molesting his 5-year-old daughter. UAN speaks to leading US defence lawyer Harvard Professor Alan Dershowitz who says it sets a dangerous precedent when a grand jury decides not to try a man for murder.

The man charged with the Bali bombings in 2002 which left more than 200 people dead is about to learn his fate at a court in Jakarta. Karishma Vaswami is there with the very latest.
