A fortnight to go before the London Olympics, UK Armed Forces are being asked to provide thousands of troops as back-up security. The original contractor G4S is understood to be struggling to supply the ten-thousand guards needed. We hear from Brent C Brown, whose company in Atlanta was involved in security for the 1996 Olympic Games.

Football's governing body FIFA has published documents which say that former president Joao Havelange and his former son-in-law Ricardo Teixeira took bribes.

A new edition of Ernest Hemingway's classic "A Farewell to Arms" has just been published, which includes the 47 different ways that he wrote and rewrote the ending. We find out more from Sandra Spanier, who's a Professor of English at Penn State university and is General Editor of the Hemingway Letters Project.

We also hear about Japan's grief over the death of a baby giant panda.
