Jim is busy in the vegetable plot and in among the tomatoes once again. Everyone's busy lizzies have been suffering with downy mildew for the last few years and so Carolyn decided to try out a range of bedding plants that might take over the mantle of most favourite bedding plant, but in this case specifically bedding plants that should do well in Scotland.
Carolyn takes a look at the progress of the display after being in the ground since the beginning of June. Grace Murray in Forfar is pleased with her small garden around her bungalow except for one patch. A bed in the middle of the lawn, which has slate chips around a water feature. That all sounds nice but grass has infiltrated amongst the plants, it takes hours to weed and they both have arthritis so it is hard to manage. George will enlarge and replant the bed and will install a suitable pump for the water feature and add a new stone to the top of what is already there to introduce more splash.
