Victims of minor assault could soon lose out under plans to change the rules on compensation payments, plus should there be better regulation of estate agents?

MPs are debating plans to scrap compensation payments to victims of minor criminal assaults and other changes to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme. The Ministry of Justice wants to restrict payments to those suffering serious injuries. We hear from victims of assault.

Plus a report by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors shows 90 percent of homebuyers think estate agents should be better regulated. At the moment agents who aren't members of a professional body aren't obliged to meet minimum standards.
