A High Court judge has ruled a boy with cancer can have surgery, despite his mother refusing consent. Plus UK sport commits a record 拢347,000,000 to the Rio Olympics.

The High Court decides to overrule the mother of a 7-year-old boy with cancer and allow him to have brain surgery. Peter Allen and Louise Minchin hear medical and ethical reactin. With the funding being announced for UK Sport's Olympic 2016 programme, Peter and Louise speak to some of winners and losers including the GB swimmer, Gemma Spofforth, the grandfather of the Olympic gold medalist Jade Jones, the 2012 boxing gold medalist, Anthony Joshua and the handball player Chris McDermott.
