Episode 10
Gardening series. Carolyn and Carole are planting the bedding display with an emerald/jade/coral-themed scheme to fit in with Beechgrove's 35th anniversary.
Carolyn and Carole will be in the decking garden, adding oranges and lemons as well as planting the bedding display for this year with an emerald/jade/coral-themed scheme to fit in with Beechgrove's 35th anniversary.
Meanwhile, Jim plants runner beans and courgettes and helps the gardening children at Comrie Primary School in Perthshire with a creeping buttercup (Ranunculus repens) infestation which they do not wish to use a herbicide on.
Carole has a master class in alpine planting from alpine expert John Mitchell in Edinburgh at the Royal Botanic Gardens, where she visits the brand new Alpine House, which is the first in a British botanic garden dedicated to growing these plants in the naturalistic medium of tufa. This new house provides the opportunity to show how alpine growing techniques have evolved in the last 30 years.
