Sir Ian Botham on dementia
Former cricketer Sir Ian Botham has been speaking about his father's dementia and how difficult it was to cope with the deteriorating condition.听
He told 成人论坛 Inside Out's Chris Jackson how he hired a private jet to take his father, Leslie, on holiday which would be his final trip abroad. But the experience proved to be painful and distressing.听
When Leslie became a patient in a care home, Sir Ian said he found the experience increasingly difficult and eventually decided to stop visiting his father.听聽

成人论坛 Inside Out examines the weaknesses in the quality of training and care on offer to people with dementia in care homes and hospitals.
This week, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) published its inspection report, Cracks in the Pathway, which found dementia care is variable in some care homes and hospitals in England.
