Sexism in Restaurants

The restaurant industry has a history of sexism, from the 1950鈥檚 style US diner to cocktail dresses as part of the staff uniform. But what about when that message comes across in a more overt manner? Especially in an establishment where this catches you off guard?

Take high-end restaurateur Mark Hix, and his restaurant Hixter where female staff members wear t-shirts with the slogan Crack Whore Chicken and Chips. Is this artistic and ironic or just sexist and degrading?

The following Sunday听 four million French turned out in cities across the country to march in a symbolic protest of unity but still, many听 fear there will be some type of backlash against听 France鈥檚 Muslim population. Front National, France鈥檚 extreme right party, is led by Marine Le Pen. In the aftermath of Charlie Hebdo, what will she do now?
