Music Day with Beth Orton!

It's World Music Day, and Mary Anne Hobbs is joined by award-winning artist Beth Orton, who talks about working as a mentor to up-and-coming musicians.

It's World Music Day! Mary Anne is joined by Mercury Prize-nominated, BRIT award-winning, singer-songwriter Beth Orton, who talks about her work as a mentor for up-and-coming artists.

Beth has over twenty years' experience of working in the music business, with six studio albums in the bag, plus collaborations with William Orbit, The Chemical Brothers and Terry Callier.

Mary Anne asks her about her role in the Wall of Sounds Artistic Directors Series, imparting her knowledge of the industry to a group of specially-selected artists from all over the UK, and helping to spread the music.

Expect tunes from Beth Orton herself, plus some of those who have inspired her own music over the years, including Joni Mitchell, The Ronettes, and The Ramones.

The F锚te de la Musique, also known as Make Music Day or World Music Day, is an annual music celebration taking place on June 21, the first day of summer in cities around the world.
