The British Heart Foundation says a fine imposed by the Information Commissioner is a complete affront to its supporters and seven million people with heart disease.

Simon Gillespie, the Chief Executive of the British Heart Foundation says a fine imposed by the Information Commissioner is a complete affront to its supporters, and seven million people with heart disease.

The Information Commissioners Office found the RSPCA and British Heart Foundation had breached Data Protection rules by investigating how much existing donors were worth, as well as tracking down lapsed donors and trading personal details with other charities.

The BHF says the claims and fine are wrong, inaccurate, and disproportionate.
