The Money Saving Expert website is reporting that if you apply for a new passport you will no longer be able to roll-over any remaining time from your old one.

Many people are forced to renew early because places like Dubai will refuse entry if passengers have less than six months left on their documents..

So far the Home Office has declined to comment, but Martin Lewis says customer service at the Passport Office has told his website that they stopped adding any remaining time to new passports from September 10th.
