Blacklidge/Horastead family update

The Blacklidge/Horastead family stayed on in New Zealand and had a fantastic week after the show, 聽travelling down the whole of the North Island.

They spent 4 days in Napier which was totally amazing to take the boys to where her Grandad Peter was from - they even went to the road he was born and lived in, 聽and stood outside where the house used to be (before the landslide from the earthquake took it away).

This made the trip for Carly as she walked along the beach where her Great Grandparents would have walked their children and she also was able to lay some red roses and a card where her mum had scattered her Grandad's ashes.

They had an amazing second week and the boys swam with sharks at Napier aquarium. Isaac and Carly got to feed the penguins. The second week was busy but they were able to see lots of the North Island and the boys had real fun and saw and did some things they never expected to do which for Carly, was what she wanted them to experience. They all voted again at the end of the trip and said they would love to live in New Zealand!

Jason and Carly have been working hard, Paul (who offered Jason the job in NZ) has been in contact with Jason. Samuel has taken his GCSE subjects and Joseph took his 11+ whilst Isaac has joined the football club where his older brothers play.

They went to Spain in the summer holidays and have been busy doing some finishing touches to their house and garden whilst聽 considering what their options are.

Sadly Jason鈥檚 mum Rita passed away on Sunday 2nd December - this has really put a stop on everything at the moment and they just want to get through this difficult time.

Carly would like to add that the boys really missed their Grandparents whilst they were away as they spend a lot of time with them whilst they are working as her parents take and collect the boys to school and the boys would miss them terribly.

Her parents would be willing to make the move to NZ (Carly's mum is a NZ passport holder as her Dad was NZ) but wouldn鈥檛 be able to do this immediately. 聽Carly's Dad has his Dad over every Sunday.

Carly is not sure they would be able to leave without them as they are such a big part of the boys lives and after everything that has happened this last month with Jason losing his Mum, 聽and the boys losing their Nan, 聽it has made us realise how import family is and the precious time you have with loved ones.
