Live from the Armistice Events at Enniskillen Castle
Fermanagh was the first to announce the WWI Armistice before London and Dublin. John hears this story and many others on how events unfolded in Enniskillen that morning.
John hears the story of the Armistice and how it was first announced in Fermanagh, with live music from Clara Wilson and food from Paula McIntyre to reflect 100 years ago. Also the role of amateur radio and the enthusiasm there still is for it today; the use of kite photography in the trenches and how a local photographer has been capturing images of Fermanagh today using the same method. Local students read letters from the Front and John visits Cleenish Island and meets Marion Maxwell who shows him around the abandoned World War I resettlement scheme.
