Episode 5

In the north east of Scotland, three impressive homes vie for a place in the final. A converted bothy, a Hollywood makeover and creative taxidermy are all under consideration.

In this new series, three property experts are judging Scotland鈥檚 Home of the Year. They are architect and university teacher Michael Angus, renowned Glasgow-based interior designer Anna Campbell-Jones and globally recognised lifestyle blogger Kate Spiers. This time, they are looking at entries from the north east of Scotland. Here, they find a home of two halves in the coastal town of Stonehaven, with one side Edwardian, the other modern - and a little taxidermy thrown in for good measure. They also view a traditional granite-style home in Aberdeen that looks to have had a striking Hollywood makeover, and a sustainable home in rural Aberdeenshire built out of an old bothy. The judges will score each of them marks out of ten for functionality, distinctiveness and clever design, and their scores will determine which home makes it to the final.
