Jonnie Crawford hears about the Bendooragh man whose father-in-law, saw out the war as a German prisoner and on arrival home, sent a van load of local produce to Sandy Row.
Willie Hill visits a small museum set up by survivors of an elite American unit – the only one ever established outside the USA while Sylvia Burnside heads to Broughshane to visit what’s left of a camp for Gibraltarian evacuees.
Musically, we hear the stories behind two famous songs that kept the nation’s resolve strong and lightened the mood – and one was composed in a morning and performed live on air on ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Radio that evening – even more importantly for Kintra - it was written by a well-known Ulster-Scot!
