Luke Evans picks his final Tracks of My Years
Luke Evans, the singer and actor, picks his Tracks of My Years. Plus Ken has another round of the PopMaster music quiz.
Luke Evans, the singer and actor, picks his Tracks of My Years with songs from fun featuring Janelle Monae and ABBA. Luke's recently released his debut album, At Last, which brings together an eclectic collection of modern and classic songs which have been chosen by Luke. The songs include U2’s ‘With Or Without You’, Maria McKee’s 90’s power ballad ‘Show Me Heaven’ and Cher’s ‘If I Could Turn Back Time’, along with the Etta James’ Jazz standard ‘At Last’ and ‘The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face’ by Roberta Flack. The album was recorded in early 2019 at the world famous Sarm Studios in London where Luke worked with producer Steve Anderson and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Growing up with the music of the Welsh valleys running through his veins, he left school at 16 and immediately headed to Cardiff to study under the supervision of established singing coach Louise Ryan.
After winning a scholarship to the London Studio Centre theatre school and graduating in 2000, Luke began his career on the stage, performing in many of London's West End productions such as Rent, Miss Saigon, and Piaf before making his film breakthrough in the Clash of the Titans 2010 remake. He continued to take the film world by storm appearing in huge Hollywood blockbusters such as The Fast and The Furious, The Girl On The Train, The Hobbit and 3 Musketeers. Luke also starred in the live action remake of Disney's Beauty and the Beast alongside Emma Watson where he had the chance to show off his singing talents as 'Gaston'.
Ken's got another round of the legendary PopMaster music quiz and your dedications with today's love song. There's also the record and album of the week.
