For International Women鈥檚 Day, we鈥檝e stories of some strong, feisty Ulster-Scots lassies past and present who inspire us. Sylvia Burnside stays close to home to hear about the very determined Cunningham sisters whose legacy is a landmark in Cullybackey. Rab Lennox meets a musician who started out playing the bagpipes at just 9 years old, but now makes her presence felt as a bass drummer. Molly Liggett tells us about the Portadown woman who blazed a trail through the arts and medical world and Helen Mark goes backstage among the make-up and curling tongs for a chat with two of the singers taking part in a televised concert to celebrate Jimmy Kennedy鈥檚 Songbook.
The team really enjoys hearing from listeners with a tale of their own to tell, an Ulster-Scots event they鈥檙e planning or a yarn to share with the audience. You can reach them by email at kintra@bbc.co.uk, and they鈥檙e always up for a bit of blether if you bump into them out and about, so say hello!
