’S urrainn do aileirdsidh a bhith a’ fàgail pàrantan a’ faireachdainn aonaranach agus fo uallach, agus mar thoradh air an sin, tha sinn a’ faighneachd do chuid dè tha iad a’ dèanamh airson dèiligeadh ri na draghan sin?

Tha am prògram cuideachd ag innse sgeulachd dhuilich Nadim agus Tanya Ednan-Laperouse a chaill an nighean aca, Natasha, air sgàth a h-aileirdsidh, agus mar a tha am bròn a dh’ fhuiling iad air toirt orra buidheann a stèidheachadh na h-ainm, airson daoine fhoghlamachadh agus airson leigheas a lorg airson aileirdsidhean bìdh.

Sealladh fiosrachail agus pearsanta bho dhaoine agus bho theaghlaichean a’ sealltainn gur e adhbhar beatha no bàs a th’ ann an aileirdsidhean bìdh ann an cuid de shuidheachaidhean.

Allergy is one of the most common chronic diseases in Europe. Around 44 per cent of British adults now suffer with at least one allergy and up to 20 per cent of patients struggle daily with the fear of a possible asthma attack, anaphylactic shock or even death from an allergic reaction.

A diagnosis of an allergy can leave parents feeling anxious and isolated and as a result of that, we find out what coping mechanisms some are adopting to help overcome their anxieties.

This documentary also tells the heartbreaking story of how Nadim and Tanya Ednan-Laperouse lost their daughter Natasha due to an allergic reaction, and how their grief has propelled them to set up a foundation in their daughter’s name to educate, inform and help find a cure for food allergies.

This is an informative and emotive insight from individuals and families, showing that food allergies are not something to be taken lightly and in some situations really can be a matter of life or death.
