The internet has changed so much in our lives, including the way people consume news. The printed titles are competing with a new generation of news providers online. And in a digital world where the rules are - there are no rules – it seems the bigger you are then the bigger your share. 

Eye on Wales takes a look at the effects of local news moving from newsprint to PCs, tablets and phones. 

Programme presenter Oliver Hides hears from those who say all they want is for the media landscape they work in – whether in Wales’s largest newspaper publisher or one of its smallest - is to be a level playing field. 

And he hears from others who say a reduction in reliable informed journalism risks people’s engagement in the democratic process itself. 

Contributors include Hollywood star Michael Sheen who describes his pride at seeing his name for the first time in a now defunct local paper when he was schoolboy footballer.
