Episode 1
The team restores a model ship made of matchsticks, a retro machinist鈥檚 chair and a papier mache black and white dog, synonymous with the music industry.
Jay Blades and the team bring three treasured family heirlooms, and the memories they hold, back to life.
Wood whizz Will Kirk takes on the huge responsibility of restoring a model ship that was carefully handcrafted out of matchsticks by a beloved father who died when his children were still small. This is one of the only possessions that owner Lesley has from her dad, whom she lost when she was just seven. It is a painstaking job for Will, who leaves Lesley truly overwhelmed with his meticulous repair.
Metal expert Dominic Chinea and furniture upholsterer Sonnaz Nooranvary join forces to restore a machinist鈥檚 chair that links a lover of needlework with her seamstress grandmother. Owner Tara never met her grandmother but was gifted the chair when her grandparents passed away.
Ceramics conservator Kirsten Ramsay turns her hand to papier mache when she restores a black and white dog that has spent decades in his master鈥檚 hallway, reminding him of his long and exciting career in the music industry.
