Episode 15
A vintage car – once a father and son project, now rusting away – and a cake stand with huge sentimental value are among the objects transformed into functional items.
Remakers Rob and Titch love cars, so when a vintage 1950s Ford Popular comes to the workshop, they are both extremely keen to get their hands on it. The car belongs to Mike and is an unfinished project that he and his dad worked on for years. Now it’s rusting away, but Mike can’t bear the thought of scrapping it. Can the remakers come up with a design that will save it and give it a new purpose?
Ned the rocking horse belongs to Samantha, and he has been in her family for decades. In recent years, Ned has been passed from relative to relative, loved but now neglected. Woodcraft expert Daisy takes on the challenge of taking the fragile rocking horse and turning him into something practical that can be enjoyed once more.
Pauline’s parents bought a cake stand in 1967, and it was a feature in her house as she grew up. She’s very fond of it because of the memories it stirs about her mum and dad, but it’s been gathering dust in a cupboard for years. Metal specialist Titch wants to transform the silver-plated stand into an item that Pauline can use every day while keeping her memories alive.
