Beady Belle on the Oslo Jazz Scene

Jamie’s guest this week is Beady Belle, who tells us a little about the Oslo Jazz scene and selects tracks from her favourite local acts.

Jamie’s guest this week is the Norwegian vocalist and composer Beady Belle.

A mainstay of the Oslo jazz scene for many years, Beady Belle is celebrating the 20th anniversary of her recording debut and preparing to release her 9th studio album, ‘Nothing But The Truth’, in 2022. Her own genre-fluid sound which takes inspiration from jazz, soul and electronic music, she says is a hybrid typical of the city where she made her name.

Beady Belle talks about the rule breaking and collaboration that makes the Oslo jazz scene so special, picks three local acts you should get to know and introduces the latest single from her forthcoming album – ‘Truth Wide Open’
