Top figures from cinema discuss how the year unfolded for them and their hopes for a full recovery in the industry. We cover the box office successes of 2021, notably the triumph of the latest James Bond film No Time to Die as well as some of the films that emerged at festivals to become strong awards contenders. Among them are The Power of the Dog, Belfast, King Richard and Flee.

The programme also revisits a major event in the cinema world in Los Angeles in 2021 – the unveiling of the long-awaited Academy Museum. And Emma Jones reports on one of the most shocking events in the movie industry this year – the fatal shooting on the set of Rust, involving star Alec Baldwin, which left the film's cinematographer dead and its director wounded. Finally, Tom Brook will share with us his personal countdown of his top ten films of 2021.
