JJ Chalmers introduces the mixed relay, regarded as triathlon racing at its most thrilling with all four athletes per team – two men and two women – taking on the swim, cycle and run.

Great Britain finished first or second in all three mixed relays during last year’s World Series and are led at Roker Beach by Commonwealth bronze medallist Beth Potter in the absence of global stars Alex Yee, Jonny Brownlee and Georgia Taylor-Brown.
