Ahead of the release of a new collection of his complete Decca recordings, presenter Sara Mohr-Pietsch speaks to the one of the greatest living pianists, Sir András Schiff, about the experience of communion during live performance. He tells Sara about performing on Mozart’s fortepiano, the introspective nature of Bach’s experimentation with counterpoint, and why he’s finally ready to tackle the composer’s monumental work - The Art of Fugue.
