The mission of Wexford Festival Opera in Ireland is to discover and stage forgotten operatic masterpieces. Today French composer Camille Erlanger (1863鈥�1919) is more forgotten than most, but he wrote nine operas for houses including the Paris Op茅ra and his fame spread far and wide: he has a street named after him in Quebec City. L'Aube rouge (The Red Dawn) was premiered in Rouen in 1911 and its passionate music tells a classic Romeo-and-Juliet story of love across political divides - Serge is the leader of a group of anarchists, Olga the daughter of the general who's sworn to destroy them.
