Liverpool-based US soul singer Jalen Ngonda performs live for Radio 2's Piano Room Month with a sound and style that evokes the golden age of soul.
Jalen recently released his highly rated debut album, Come Around and Love Me for the Daptone label, a decade after first arriving in the UK to study at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. His Piano Room set includes his own compositions If You Don't Want My Love, Illusions and the Beach Boys classic, Don't Talk (Put Your Head On My Shoulder).
