The Glasgow Madrigirls, Mozart and Elgar
Celebrating Scotland鈥檚 classical world, Jamie MacDougall highlights the work of the 成人论坛 Scottish Symphony Orchestra in concert and other Scottish artists and ensembles.
Elgar鈥檚 glorious first symphony took him 10 years to complete and was a hugely personal work. It鈥檚 performed this week by the 成人论坛 SSO with conductor Ryan Wigglesworth. Jamie shares concert news from the RSNO chorus performing Bruckner鈥檚 beautiful Mass No 2 later this month and we hear the RSNO play Greig's Symphonic Dances with conductor Bjarte Engeset ahead of concerts in Lanark and Greenock as the extraordinary horn player Felix Klieser joins the orchestra. This week there鈥檚 also music from the Glasgow Madrigirls and a Mozart Serenade from the Scottish Chamber Orchestra Wind Soloists.
